Ready to Serve: Spanish for Frontline Hospitality

This 30-hour training introduces bartenders, baristas, servers, guest services staff and other frontline professionals with practical and easy to use Spanish phrases tailored for real hospitality workplace interactions.

Lessons will be interactive, and the instructor will use a variety of training techniques like flash cards, role-playing and culturally responsive communication strategies for learning. Participants will learn to greet guests, answer common questions, navigate service situations and create a more inclusive, memorable experience for the customer.

NO PRIOR SPANISH LANGUAGE EXPERIENCE REQUIRED!

You will receive a stipend of $639 for your time and commitment to this course.

Arriving late to class, leaving early, or missing sessions will affect the stipend allocation.

Eligible participants are current employees of employer partners who are also members of UNITE HERE! Local 8. See the Jobs link for a list of employer partners.

Stipends will be issued at the end of each course and you will need to complete a W9 form. Participants should plan on a few weeks for the stipend payment to be processed. It is not available immediately after training.
